Risk disclaimer

Honest results begin with honest risk.

Trading gold and other leveraged products carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for everyone. You can lose more than you expect. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

  • All content from Kiwi Gold Signals is educational. It is general information, not personal financial advice.
  • We are not a licensed financial adviser and nothing we publish takes your personal situation into account.
  • Past performance, including our published results, does not guarantee future performance.
  • You alone are responsible for every trade you take, including position sizing, and for complying with the laws of your country.
  • Leverage magnifies both profits and losses. Small positions survive; oversized positions do not.
  • If you are unsure whether trading is right for you, talk to a licensed financial adviser before risking money.

Understanding gold trading risk

Gold trading risk is not the same as the risk in a savings account or a share portfolio. XAUUSD is traded with leverage, which means the money in your account controls a position many times its size. A move of a few dollars in the gold price can be a large percentage of a small account. That works in both directions, and it works faster against you than most people expect.

The number that matters is not how often a plan wins. It is how much is at stake on each attempt. A plan that wins seven times out of ten will still empty an account if the size is wrong on the three that lose.

What can go wrong

Spreads widen around news and around the daily server rollover. A stop sitting inside that widening can be filled at a worse price than the level you chose. Slippage is normal in fast conditions and it is not a broker error. Gaps happen over the weekend, and a position held through one can open past its stop.

Technology fails as well. Internet drops, platforms freeze, and orders do not always sit where you think they do. None of that is unusual, and all of it is yours to plan for.

How to read our published results

Every trade we close is published in pips on the results page, wins and losses both. Those results are a record of what happened, not a forecast of what will happen. A good run does not mean the next one will be good, and our own losing trades are on that page for exactly that reason.

Results are shown in pips rather than money, because money depends on the size you choose and that choice is yours alone.

Before you risk anything

Trade a demo account until the process is boring. Start small when you go live and stay small for longer than feels necessary. Never add money you need for something else. If you are unsure whether trading suits your situation, speak to a licensed financial adviser in your own country first.
